Judges selected by the Holy Trinity Film Festival will be using the following general criteria when evaluating the merits of each entry. Points will be awarded in each category. Judges decisions are final.

1. Story

  • Well-developed story line.
  • Narrative flows naturally and logically.
  • Ability to evoke emotion or audience reaction.
  • Evidence of balanced research.
  • Evidence of planning.

2. Production

  • Camera work. Creative camera angles and shot composition enhance the overall quality of the film; assist in conveying the message of the film; advances the storyline.
  • Use of sound.
  • Lighting. Use of available light and artificial light.
  • Setting. Creative design and good location choices.

3. Post-Production

  • Editing.
  • Titles and graphics.

4. Creativity

  • Original concept.
  • Unique approach to a topic.
  • Overall impression of the film.

Christian Values - to be judged solely for the Christian Values prize

  • Theme or underlying message of the film best exemplifies Christ's message to love your neighbour.
  • Film promotes Christian values of social justice, equality and environmental stewardship.
Healthy Living - to be judged solely for the Health Living prize  NEW!
  • Film promotes healthy living i.e. smoking cessation, exercise, proper nutrition, etc
